Returning to host the late night sketch show was Lindsay's idea, according to TMZ.

The sources reportedly added Lindsay feels hosting the show again "will remind people she's an actress," and draw attention away from her ongoing legal troubles.
The March 3 gig will mark Lindsay's first time back on "SNL" since hosting the show in 2006.
