Charlottesville Church Holds Greek Festival

A Charlottesville church set up shop as a Greek restaurant Friday.

It was the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church's biannual Greek Festival. Authentic Greek dishes and pastries of all shapes, sizes and prices lined the tables inside the church.

Some of the Greek dishes had fancy names, but church member Mike Bournos says it's the food's fancy taste that keeps people coming back year after year.

"You just, you know they don't mean anything by just saying them, you have to actually come and taste them.? Once you do, you don't care about the name you just want to get some more," said Bournos.

The church will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad.
