The Psychology Department at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2013, in the general area of cognitive psychology.? Initial appointment to this position will be for a term of four years.

We seek an individual with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring student research.? The primary teaching responsibilities include a lecture course and a laboratory course in cognitive psychology, rotating into the department?s statistics/research methods sequence, and contribution to the department?s introductory course and seminar program.? The incumbent will teach the standard teaching load on campus (currently 4.5 courses per year).? A program of sustained scholarly research in the incumbent?s own area of specialization is expected, as well as participation in the full range of faculty responsibilities including academic advising and service on committees.?

Qualifications required for the appointment include Ph.D. in hand by fall 2013.? Demonstration of potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching is desirable as is postdoctoral research experience.?
