WASHINGTON?COUNTY, Idaho -- The Lone Pine Fire has burned about 1,200 acres on BLM and state of Idaho lands in Lone Pine Gulch, an area where the Payette National Forest has fire responsibilities.

The fire started Tuesday, and quickly grew because of dry grasses in the area.? Officials don't know how it started.

No homes are at risk, but the fire is threatening ranch buildings and rangeland.

Hand crews, engine crews and helicopters assigned to the fire are making good progress toward containment.

There are some forest road and trail closures in the area.
